Doc Magi Flute Circle

Attention

The flute circle has been postponed till 2008.

The flute circle is designed for people to gather and play the Native American Flute with each other and have some fun.  Michael has been using the Native American Flute as a method of relaxing and sells flutes for those wanting to learn. The Native American Flute (love flute) has a deep history and each flute makes a different sound. From the high pitch of the High Spirit Kestral or Merlin to the low haunting sound of the High Spirit Contra Bases.  The Native American Flute allows anyone the opportunity to create music with no training at all. It provides a soothing voice and an easy way to express what is inside each one of us.

Doc Magi Flute Circle carries a full line of High Spirit, Sweet Leaf as well as other flutes. We also have a great selection of Native American Music CD's and some great music books to get you started.  Michael sets up a display at the Saugus Swap Meet almost every Sunday which you can come by and get acquainted. For those wanting to learn more you can meet with the flute circle and just have some fun.  Call today to find out more information or come by the swap meet or office.  We are always happy to answer any questions you might have and just relax and enjoy the time we spend.

If you have questions about the Native American Flute or are interested in purchasing one let us know.

Sweet Leaf Flutes

David Archey of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is the creator and designer for Sweet Leaf Flutes. David learned to make the Native American flute from his mother years ago. She passed down the information to David and he has been perfecting his own style of flutes and flute making. David has created Eagle Head Flutes that we currently carry along with several other types of flutes. Another unique quality of David's flutes is that he gets his wood from several different places and each piece of wood has its own unique quality and history. Some of our flutes come from houses that were build over a hundred years ago. His latest flute creation has been branch flutes which David has made out of a branch. David is a member of the Doc Magi Flute Circle and a friend. We carry a full line of David's flutes for you to purchase and of course try out.

DARK GLOSSY FLUTES

Our Dark Glossy Flutes are individually tuned to a major scale and play a range of 2 octaves. Each is unique in its exterior design and has a durable water proof finish. We recommend that beginners start with either the key of 'A' or 'G'. The key of 'G' is a good key for playing with other instruments. Remember, the longer the flute the deeper the tone and the more difficult the finger stretch. All Flutes come with playing instructions and are Guaranteed for one year.

Flutes come with flute sock and flute book with 50 songs to play.

BAMBOO SAXOPHONE

These bamboo saxophones are unique instruments, originally designed and created by Sunreed Instruments. A traditional saxophone mouthpiece, fused onto a piece of bamboo, gives these instruments an incredibly sax-like sound enjoyed by novice & experienced alike. These instruments are being used by a wide variety of professional musicians, including a Grammy Award winning saxophonist. Yet, if you have never played a saxophone, and always wanted to learn, now is your chance. Not only are these economically priced, you will find them a simpler instrument to learn on. They have one full octave of range, and are fully chromatic (play all sharps and flats). They have an upper range available at an octave and a half. They come complete with new mouthpiece (alto), reed, cap, ligature (holds reed in place), warranty, songbook and instructions.  Because of the physical acoustics of reeded instruments, these instruments play one octave lower than you would expect an instrument of this size to play.  Because they play in the fundamental (lower) range, they will sound lower than their "parent" instrument, which most often play in the upper range.

Bamboo Saxophones

Didgeridoos

The didgeridoo (also: didgeridu, yidaki) is an Australian Aboriginal instrument used musically, in ceremony, and in ritual. Myths and legends abound about the didgeridoo and its relationship to the creation of the world in Aboriginal cultures. There is evidence it may have a history of over 40,000 years. Traditionally made from a eucalyptus tree which has been hollowed out from termites, it is often today made from bamboo and other materials. It is played like a bass horn, giving off a deep, resonant drone sound, unlike any instrument you are likely to have heard.

Our instruments, made from bamboo, with a wax mouth seal, and lacquer finished for longevity. They have every bit the tonal quality of the authentic Australian instruments, while costing far less. Complete instructions are included.
